Ramana speaks of the heart (spiritual center) as being on the right side . I have only experienced it to the left. Our last visit to Narmada I slowly felt a warmth developing on the left.

It was like a warm lump of butter and became a permanent "companion". It was devoid of a feeling of "love" or any "emotion". I watched it very closely for a long time expecting it to recede. Eventually it did start to very slowly diminish, but to my amazement it took 5 years to do so. Now being a bit curious I wrote to Swami Atmasthananda, a "friend" and president of the RK Order and asked him about the difference between the right and left side heart, but not mentioning my left side feeling. He replied, "Read the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. A non-answer at best!

I asked Durgananda (in person at Narmada), & he replied, "The left side is Mother's side."
